There are three, count them, three games this weekend for your listening pleasure.

First, tonight at 7pm, the women will play Western Michigan.

Tomorrow (I know the Marshall game is tomorrow as well but we do have a game before that) at Noon, the men host Cal-Northridge.

And Sunday, at 1 pm, the ladies will play again against Binghampton.

Listen, hopefully it will work better, I have faith that it will. It could be some computer issues with some of you that are having problems. If that is the case I will try and record them for you and send them to you if you’d like.

Hope everyone has a nice Labor Day weekend!

I know there is a soccer game tomorrow night but I will not be calling it. I have to conduct interviews at U92 during that time. But you can still listen in as always to the broadcast. I felt yesterday’s went pretty well despite not getting on air on time like we had wanted to (yeah…CSTV is at it again for those who remember).

I do have a FULL and I mean FULL weekend of games coming up starting Friday night. Then one Saturday afternoon and then a final one on Sunday afternoon. Yeah…a loooong weekend of soccer ahead with the season opener for the WVU football team as well. Fun, fun, fun.

I meant to post this last night but I figured this would still be alright.

Just a friendly reminder that there is another game today at 330 pm here at WVU. The men will take on Buffalo who beat up on Big East rival Pitt on Friday before the Mountaineers took out Fairfield. We hope to get on air by 315 and provide coverage of the game this afternoon. Hopefully the audio will work today, I know a lot of you had issues with the audio and getting everything to work. Again, it was mostly CSTV’s problem and not any of yours. I know the thing works because I have been told that there has been some people that got to listen. So just keep trying and hopefully it will be a go today.

Good luck everyone, and hopefully you can all listen today!

Well, incase you all didn’t notice WVU did win their first game of the season tonight against Fairvfield. I know some people had trouble with the audio loading (including myself afterwards). That was totally a CSTV problem so I honestly don’t know what to say about that. Hopefully it will be working for the Sunday game.

Speaking of which, the next game is Sunday at 330 pm. If all goes to plan we will get on air about 315. Tonight we got on a little bit later than we thought but still had a decent amount of pregame.

Again, hopefully this will work this Sunday and improve upon from tonight. Like I said it was a total CSTV problem and not any of you guys out there. First games of the season typically work out like that with these sorts of things for some reason I guess. If anyone did get to listen, I would still like to know what you thought and how everything sounded.

Alright, there are a couple soccer games this weekend for your listening pleasure (or at least I hope it sounds good). One Friday and the second on Sunday.

Friday is at 730 though I expect or hope to get on air by no later than 715 (ET folks…). Sunday’s game is at 330 I believe, though if I am incorrect I will let you know other wise.

So how to listen is real simple. I have bought the season pass this year and it should be working correctly. All you need to do is go to www.msnsportsnet.com and go down the page, near the bottom on the right side of the page. Under the "Mountaineers Play Here" logo you will see links for audio for soccer games this weekend. Click the game for the right date and a pop up will appear. Just use my log in so you won’t have to pay for it down the road.

Its real simple I believe and should work once things are starting up on Friday. If it doesn’t work Friday just let me know and I will hopefully figure out what went wrong and get things going for Sunday. I hope things work out better than the first couple games last season.

I will try to keep you all posted on here about games when they come up, which is quite often this semester if I am not mistaken.

By the way, hope you like the new look. As much as I liked the other design I just felt this was more of a look for the fall. But you all know I can never stick with a site design for more than a few weeks anyways.

Well, I meant to take care of this post a couple days ago but sometimes I get caught up in things or the internet doesn’t work for me when I want to do something. But nonetheless, here I am with a little recap of my first week at ABC Radio.

First couple days were boring to say the least. I basically just organzied a truck load of papers for differnet people in the sales department of ESPN Radio here in Dallas. Not a totally bad thing, I did get to see how they do their orders and sales contracts which isn’t totally a waste to know about. I had to basically recall my ABCs for the first two days. At least I will say the time went by pretty well while I was doing that stuff.

The next two days were better to finish the week. Thursday I was able to sit in during a radio show at ESPN Radio. It is their show that they place between Mike & Mike in the Mornings and the Dan Patrick Show. Here the show is known as the Dennis and Engel Show. Its pretty interesting. I sat in on their show for about the entire time. See how they handle callers and all sorts of things.

Next, I went with an on-air talent and he showed me how they write up their SportCenter Updates. Its pretty cool, it had me do one and put the music to it to see how it would sound. I will probably be working with this guy more as the summer continues in the mornings. Should be a good thing.

And on Friday, I went on location with the Dennis and Engel show to see how they do a live remote broadcast. Nothing I had never seen really, but it was better than sitting in an office all day on a Friday.

As you can see I have today off since it is Memorial Day. Can’t complain a bit about that.

I will try to update this as much as I can with what I do this summer. It shouldn’t be too hard since I have to do it anyways to get credit for this internship!

Most of you who read this know I called soccer games this past fall for both the men and women’s teams here at WVU. Today, my broadcast partner and myself met with the people at MSN (the media folk who control most of the sports at school) to see if we could come back in the fall. Of course we are signed up again for them. They loved our work last year even though our main problems were techincal. Thankfully those tech issues seem to be handled for this coming season. That is a great thing really.

How many games will I be doing this fall is a question. Last year I didn’t work nearly as many as I wanted to due to school and other issues. Not to mention both the men and women were home for only 14 games. This year they are home for a combined 21 (it helps that the women’s coach is about to have a baby, so they will be home a lot). Yes, 21 homes games, plus the possible Big East tournament games and NCAA games. Which will be great!

Of course I will let you all know details on how to listen to those games when they come up.

It was nice to square away that issue before I leave for the summer and I believe the head of MSN was quite impressed about where I am working this summer. Now to finish an exam tomorrow and pack up. I should…should be in Beckley on Thursday sometime. We will see.

Yeah, I am honestly tired here. I haven’t put up anything on here in a while…the sports blog is updated a little more I will admit that. But, really other than the normal crap with school, there isn’t a whole lot going on.

Mainly right now I am squaring away a lot of stuff for this summer at this point. Financial aid, loans, what nots…that sort of thing really. Its a little stressful but at the same time it is exciting because I know what I will possibly be doing this summer down in Texas.

But in the mean time I have a lot of work to do. Two broadcasting projects, one manual to write for sport psych, a couple quizzes, and one econ test. Thankfully I only have that econ test on finals week and then I will be done. I will honestly be happy to get it all finished and get on to summer here. The time frame for everything is a little tight but it will make for an interesting time really.

I am also now the assissant sports director at U-92 now. I guess that is some news to pass along to everyone. So now I actually get paid to work there…which will come in handy down the road. Also, in the fall I will be one of the football producers, meaning I will sit in the press box for each home game and maybe a road game if possible. Do interviews, go to practices and press conferences…the whole nine yards. It should be a good team to cover this year, seeing how some are picking them to be in the top five or even top three to begin the year. Should be exciting. I know I am jazzed up for it this fall with Marshall coming into town. As much as I hate the fact that we play them I cannot wait for it.

Well so far this weekend I have started moving to the new townhouse across town. I feel yesterday, I got quite a bit done with what I moved to the new place. Mostly my junk that will stay in the basement until I throw things out and clothes were put in the new place. I’ve already started organizing my closet in the new place since I’ve put my clothes in there. Its more space than the old closet at the place I am currently at, which is nice.

I am very happy to be moving right now, I don’t like leaving here when things on for like 30 minutes to return with all my lights off in my room from where my roommate decides to turn them off. He’s not saving any power by doing that really. Cost more to turn them on and off than to just leave them on for an extra few. Thankfully its only a few more days of junk like that. Friday is the big move day here.

Also, the brackets for NCAA tournament come out today. I will be on a selection show at U92 from 530 until 730, so give it a listen. I hosted the SportsPage on Friday night, I meant to tell more but forgot to get on here and do so. It went pretty well other than the fact that the normal music that is usually used was not where it should have been for me to use. Needless to  say I had to use really random music at the station. Other than that it was an okay show. Mikey even called in and say I was his favorite sportscaster. Thanks Mikey.

I dislike the mail system even more these days. Since I had yet to hear from FC Dallas about my internship application I thought I would just call them myself and see what was up. After being transfered a couple times I finally spoke with someone who was I guess was the media relations "man" or something that heads up the interns there. He said he hadn’t seen my application at all. Keep in mind I sent it a month ago.

So he told me to just email him all my stuff and he would take a look at it. So again keep your fingers crossed that the email system worked and that they like what they see!
