well my fall semester is done…in the books…over.

Thank God for that, let me tell you I’ve been ready for this semester to be over since it pretty much began. Classes weren’t what I thought they’d be and I probably didn’t do as good as I should have. Things picked up at the end and got pretty decent around here but there were momments that I just didn’t want to go to class or do anything. I guess you will have that.

Its Christmas time for real now in my books. XM has been helping me out on that by changing some of my channels in to Christmas ones. Its a nice little holiday thing. But I have yet to really tackle any shopping here. I guess that’s what I will spend next week doing before I go home on Thursday.

As for my Sugar Bowl trip, things are still being planned out. Looks like I will leave on New Years Day and return on the 3rd. Which will be nice since it will give me a couple days to recover and all before the new semester on the 9th. Man…looking at it I really get a short break here. Kinda sucks really when you think about it. I miss those longer breaks that we used to have like during my freshman year here.

Also looks like I may be on the move again soon here in town. Hopefully at least by March I will have moved again. Looks like possibly a Spring Break thing? Ah, we will see I guess.

Like I’ve said before, finals week for me are never to shabby. Two exams this week is never a real bad finals week, and with one under my belt already I must say I am already bored stiff around here. I am kinda dreading next week with everyone gone and all here, hopefully the few that will stick around will be willing enough to hang out and be bored with me.

You know, the more I listen to certain channels on XM radio, the more bands I start to enjoy. I guess that is the purpose of that sort of thing really.

Huh…

I got a ticket for the Sugar Bowl yesterday too. I know I don’t seem all that excited but I am, now the fun part is figuring out where to stay and how to get down there. Not exactly the easiest part of the whole deal. Though tickets were tough to get that’s for sure. Thankfully they re-released some tickets…who goes through the whole ticket lotto here and doesn’t claim a bowl ticket. Really?

Ah, a week or so until I go home. Let that countdown begin.

I will probably write a decent post about this on my hooligans page but really…the World Cup draw today was horrible. Italy, the Czechs and the "Black Stars" of Ghana. Ouch…it won’t be easy like in 02 but I think it could be do-able. Call me crazy but things could bounce our way.

Ah, but on a lighter note…it’s Friday. Well, at this point it was Friday…its almost Saturday. I must say the weekend looks great.

I really don’t have much to say tonight…listen for me tomorrow on U-92 around 8ish for my post game show after the women’s basketball game. Should be a decent time.

Oh dead week is nothing like its advertised. Nothing dead about it except how I feel. Its only Wednesday and I am tired of this week already. haha I am looking more forward to Friday as the week goes along.

Oh well….nothing real exciting to talk about here tonight. I found a new song that I keep on repeat and love to death right now. Its called "Rock and Roll Queen" by The Subways. Its a nice little rock song…very British. And when I say that I mean veeerrrrryyyy British. haha

So they are saying we are going to get a lot of snow here this weekend or at the end of this week. Yippie. Bring it on I say, its already cold enough so let’s just add to it why don’t we.

Yeah, tonight was the last class for my broadcasting class. Thank God that class is over, sure it was very easy but the teacher made it horrible. I made sure to let her know that in my evaluations tonight. Classes like that you should be able to joke around and be able to talk to your teachers, she had no people skills and it showed. No wonder she works for NPR. I know my teacher next spring has some personality to her and will be fine to deal with for the most part.

Oh my name it is nothin’
My age it means less
The country I come from
Is called the Midwest
I’s taught and brought up there
The laws to abide
And that land that I live in
Has God on its side.

Oh the history books tell it
They tell it so well
The cavalries charged
The Indians fell
The cavalries charged
The Indians died
Oh the country was young
With God on its side.

Oh the Spanish-American
War had its day
And the Civil War too
Was soon laid away
And the names of the heroes
I’s made to memorize
With guns in their hands
And God on their side.

Oh the First World War, boys
It closed out its fate
The reason for fighting
I never got straight
But I learned to accept it
Accept it with pride
For you don’t count the dead
When God’s on your side.

When the Second World War
Came to an end
We forgave the Germans
And we were friends
Though they murdered six million
In the ovens they fried
The Germans now too
Have God on their side.

I’ve learned to hate Russians
All through my whole life
If another war starts
It’s them we must fight
To hate them and fear them
To run and to hide
And accept it all bravely
With God on my side.

But now we got weapons
Of the chemical dust
If fire them we’re forced to
Then fire them we must
One push of the button
And a shot the world wide
And you never ask questions
When God’s on your side.

In a many dark hour
I’ve been thinkin’ about this
That Jesus Christ
Was betrayed by a kiss
But I can’t think for you
You’ll have to decide
Whether Judas Iscariot
Had God on his side.

So now as I’m leavin’
I’m weary as Hell
The confusion I’m feelin’
Ain’t no tongue can tell
The words fill my head
And fall to the floor
If God’s on our side
He’ll stop the next war.

Just a little Bobby Dylan for ya…I heard Straylight Run redo this song and I like it. It just fits this cold December mood here going on.

Finally got some photos here. I’m only gonna post a couple here today since I am working with a new program for photos on my web site here. Enjoy.

Standing beside the Joe Pa. statue in Penn State. This was during my little trip to State College, PA with the women’s soccer team  for their two NCAA tournament games against Hofstra and Penn State. Sadly the ladies lost against Penn State in the second round. At least they lost to a team that made it to the final four.

Nothing like sneaking a camera on the field for a game. This was during the Pitt-WVU game on  Turkey Day. A good time was had by all even though it was 5 degrees out! Yeah, it was real cold…and that field was like ice.

Yes, this is what you have to do when no one is in Morgantown. Hang out with other people that don’t leave Morgantown during breaks. Ah, this is me, Tommy Bane, and Sean "Big Daddy" Merinar at Amanda McCall’s apartment during Thanksgiving break. Yes, those are Amanda’s hats, and yes Tommy is very drunk. Some how he thought he was drinking scotch when it turned out it was Canadian Wiskey. Yuck.

Me and Merinar wore the hats around for a while once we got there that night. The hat doesn’t work for me but for Merinar it just fit. He is good like that I guess…but yeah it was a fun night with a few friends that didn’t go home like me for Thanksgiving.

Okay that’s all I will give ya for now. Hope you can wait for more, whenever that will be! haha Those who know me I don’t get in front of the camera too much these days, this was a rear thing having a camera for once on me. I will thank Michael Minnich for that one, he talked me into the camera when we were in Penn State.

One thing about being a journalism student is all the work for the semester is pilled on at the end on the week before dead week than on dead week itself. Thankfully I only have two final exams in class I need all the points I can get in. I won’t go into that yet but I am ready for this semester to end.

Tomorrow is Friday and I don’t need to say any more than that. I am hoping to see a movie or something. A nice way to end the week. But there is still a bunch of work to do be done with school and stuff at the radio station. It is all good though for the most part.

Again, hopefully new photos will come soon. I haven’t had the time to make it to a photo place to get the camera developed. That is on the list for the weekend I promise.

Yeah….

I don’t have to say that I like rain. Most people know I am a sucker for when it rains, mostly at night too. Last night I told a friend online that I wish it would rain, needless to say I woke up to it pouring the rain. Yes, and I mean pouring. But going to class in the rain is never fun so its almost turning into a win-loss situation here this morning. Not to mention I want to go back to sleep because of the rain.

Okay, enough rain talk. I went to the grocery store yesterday, and I must say, if you have the chance of buying the fudge covered Oreos…DO IT. Regular fudge or the mint fudge. They are wonderful, I mean they almost turned into my dinner last night they were so good. haha

Well its time for class…thankfully inside and not in the rain.

Things here are slowly coming along. One, I am a bit lazy doing things…and I am sure you all know that by now and two, I am busy…again you all probably know that. But its all good if you ask me. I am working on getting some more features to this page and make it all jazzed up. Might do some random quotes on here from time to time. I have some books that might help me on that now. They are just really humorous books to me. Two of them are suspose to be self-help for being a "gentleman". Which is something I find totally funny here. Reading them when I came across them in some store in a mall this weekend made my holiday shopping that much better. And the other I have mentioned about why men have nipples and such.

In case you wondered, there are 6 photos left to be taken on my camera before I get the film developed. Hopefully that 6 doesn’t take too long. If not I may just go ahead and get them done to have the photos.

The semester here is winding down and I must say that is a good thing. Sure it makes me extra busy with exams and papers and such but really its all good and I am ready for this semester to finish. It is no secret that this hasn’t been the greatest semester here but I am in good spirits about things and am ready for a new semester. Hopefully the next won’t start out like this one did.

My grades could be anything at this point I feel. I know one A is for sure and that’s in my broadcasting class. Go figure right? haha But my other journalism class is crap. Total crap I tell you. I have to write a memo on what I feel my grade should be since the semester was a total mess up due to our class getting involved with this Hurricane Katrina thing. My memo will be interesting since I have gotten screwed over by a partner dropping and not knowing a damn thing about what was going on. Even if I asked the professor I got nothing. I will fight for an A here because of that. If I don’t get it, the Dean will hear from me about it.

My English class will be a tough one to guess. Right now it is somewhere between a B and a C based on how I have done. Sure I know I could have done more for it and read the material more but it really hasn’t been an interest of mine this semester. I try to get into it during class so maybe my participation points will help me at least get a B.

Then my sport psych class. This one is a tough cookie to crack really and truthfully I would settle for a C and be totally okay with it. I say that because it is a tough class and I like the teacher a lot. He is a good teacher really, because he makes it interesting even if it has been a bunch of theories about the same stuff over and over again. It isn’t easy stuff really but I have managed some decent grades in there and it could very well come down to the final in there which should be easier than the last couple tests.

Who knows, all I know is the semester is coming to a close and I am ready for next semester. I ran in to my broadcasting teacher for next semester Thursday night at the football game. She is a cool cat really, hopefully she will be good for this class. She taught my last BN class last spring so she knows me and knows I will put a good effort in this class compared to the one I am in now. On a side note too, I never realized how short of a person she was until standing on the sidelines with her. Ah well…haha

Its a little after 10 and it doesn’t even seem like that. Tomorrow is Monday but that never means much to me since I just work on Mondays. I should get paid tomorrow for this month so that will be a nice way to start the week. Yeah…
