Oh my name it is nothin’
My age it means less
The country I come from
Is called the Midwest
I’s taught and brought up there
The laws to abide
And that land that I live in
Has God on its side.

Oh the history books tell it
They tell it so well
The cavalries charged
The Indians fell
The cavalries charged
The Indians died
Oh the country was young
With God on its side.

Oh the Spanish-American
War had its day
And the Civil War too
Was soon laid away
And the names of the heroes
I’s made to memorize
With guns in their hands
And God on their side.

Oh the First World War, boys
It closed out its fate
The reason for fighting
I never got straight
But I learned to accept it
Accept it with pride
For you don’t count the dead
When God’s on your side.

When the Second World War
Came to an end
We forgave the Germans
And we were friends
Though they murdered six million
In the ovens they fried
The Germans now too
Have God on their side.

I’ve learned to hate Russians
All through my whole life
If another war starts
It’s them we must fight
To hate them and fear them
To run and to hide
And accept it all bravely
With God on my side.

But now we got weapons
Of the chemical dust
If fire them we’re forced to
Then fire them we must
One push of the button
And a shot the world wide
And you never ask questions
When God’s on your side.

In a many dark hour
I’ve been thinkin’ about this
That Jesus Christ
Was betrayed by a kiss
But I can’t think for you
You’ll have to decide
Whether Judas Iscariot
Had God on his side.

So now as I’m leavin’
I’m weary as Hell
The confusion I’m feelin’
Ain’t no tongue can tell
The words fill my head
And fall to the floor
If God’s on our side
He’ll stop the next war.

Just a little Bobby Dylan for ya…I heard Straylight Run redo this song and I like it. It just fits this cold December mood here going on.

Finally got some photos here. I’m only gonna post a couple here today since I am working with a new program for photos on my web site here. Enjoy.

Standing beside the Joe Pa. statue in Penn State. This was during my little trip to State College, PA with the women’s soccer team  for their two NCAA tournament games against Hofstra and Penn State. Sadly the ladies lost against Penn State in the second round. At least they lost to a team that made it to the final four.

Nothing like sneaking a camera on the field for a game. This was during the Pitt-WVU game on  Turkey Day. A good time was had by all even though it was 5 degrees out! Yeah, it was real cold…and that field was like ice.

Yes, this is what you have to do when no one is in Morgantown. Hang out with other people that don’t leave Morgantown during breaks. Ah, this is me, Tommy Bane, and Sean "Big Daddy" Merinar at Amanda McCall’s apartment during Thanksgiving break. Yes, those are Amanda’s hats, and yes Tommy is very drunk. Some how he thought he was drinking scotch when it turned out it was Canadian Wiskey. Yuck.

Me and Merinar wore the hats around for a while once we got there that night. The hat doesn’t work for me but for Merinar it just fit. He is good like that I guess…but yeah it was a fun night with a few friends that didn’t go home like me for Thanksgiving.

Okay that’s all I will give ya for now. Hope you can wait for more, whenever that will be! haha Those who know me I don’t get in front of the camera too much these days, this was a rear thing having a camera for once on me. I will thank Michael Minnich for that one, he talked me into the camera when we were in Penn State.

One thing about being a journalism student is all the work for the semester is pilled on at the end on the week before dead week than on dead week itself. Thankfully I only have two final exams in class I need all the points I can get in. I won’t go into that yet but I am ready for this semester to end.

Tomorrow is Friday and I don’t need to say any more than that. I am hoping to see a movie or something. A nice way to end the week. But there is still a bunch of work to do be done with school and stuff at the radio station. It is all good though for the most part.

Again, hopefully new photos will come soon. I haven’t had the time to make it to a photo place to get the camera developed. That is on the list for the weekend I promise.

Yeah….

I don’t have to say that I like rain. Most people know I am a sucker for when it rains, mostly at night too. Last night I told a friend online that I wish it would rain, needless to say I woke up to it pouring the rain. Yes, and I mean pouring. But going to class in the rain is never fun so its almost turning into a win-loss situation here this morning. Not to mention I want to go back to sleep because of the rain.

Okay, enough rain talk. I went to the grocery store yesterday, and I must say, if you have the chance of buying the fudge covered Oreos…DO IT. Regular fudge or the mint fudge. They are wonderful, I mean they almost turned into my dinner last night they were so good. haha

Well its time for class…thankfully inside and not in the rain.

Things here are slowly coming along. One, I am a bit lazy doing things…and I am sure you all know that by now and two, I am busy…again you all probably know that. But its all good if you ask me. I am working on getting some more features to this page and make it all jazzed up. Might do some random quotes on here from time to time. I have some books that might help me on that now. They are just really humorous books to me. Two of them are suspose to be self-help for being a "gentleman". Which is something I find totally funny here. Reading them when I came across them in some store in a mall this weekend made my holiday shopping that much better. And the other I have mentioned about why men have nipples and such.

In case you wondered, there are 6 photos left to be taken on my camera before I get the film developed. Hopefully that 6 doesn’t take too long. If not I may just go ahead and get them done to have the photos.

The semester here is winding down and I must say that is a good thing. Sure it makes me extra busy with exams and papers and such but really its all good and I am ready for this semester to finish. It is no secret that this hasn’t been the greatest semester here but I am in good spirits about things and am ready for a new semester. Hopefully the next won’t start out like this one did.

My grades could be anything at this point I feel. I know one A is for sure and that’s in my broadcasting class. Go figure right? haha But my other journalism class is crap. Total crap I tell you. I have to write a memo on what I feel my grade should be since the semester was a total mess up due to our class getting involved with this Hurricane Katrina thing. My memo will be interesting since I have gotten screwed over by a partner dropping and not knowing a damn thing about what was going on. Even if I asked the professor I got nothing. I will fight for an A here because of that. If I don’t get it, the Dean will hear from me about it.

My English class will be a tough one to guess. Right now it is somewhere between a B and a C based on how I have done. Sure I know I could have done more for it and read the material more but it really hasn’t been an interest of mine this semester. I try to get into it during class so maybe my participation points will help me at least get a B.

Then my sport psych class. This one is a tough cookie to crack really and truthfully I would settle for a C and be totally okay with it. I say that because it is a tough class and I like the teacher a lot. He is a good teacher really, because he makes it interesting even if it has been a bunch of theories about the same stuff over and over again. It isn’t easy stuff really but I have managed some decent grades in there and it could very well come down to the final in there which should be easier than the last couple tests.

Who knows, all I know is the semester is coming to a close and I am ready for next semester. I ran in to my broadcasting teacher for next semester Thursday night at the football game. She is a cool cat really, hopefully she will be good for this class. She taught my last BN class last spring so she knows me and knows I will put a good effort in this class compared to the one I am in now. On a side note too, I never realized how short of a person she was until standing on the sidelines with her. Ah well…haha

Its a little after 10 and it doesn’t even seem like that. Tomorrow is Monday but that never means much to me since I just work on Mondays. I should get paid tomorrow for this month so that will be a nice way to start the week. Yeah…

yeah all of my old photos are gone….really I got rid of them like yesterdays news.

so that only means new ones are on the way…I have actually taken some new photos recently, its only a matter of time before some of them get up on here…so hang in there…

tomorrow is sunday….another trip to pittsbugh is in the horizon…three times in five days yo…yeah…all with good reason though

Well Turkey Day was great, the whoopin of Pitt was great, and even getting up way to early to go shopping was great. All in all a great weekend with the family. Top it off I now have a new cell phone. No more slider action since really that phone was a piece of junk to most people’s eye’s, but hey it did have Tetris and my new phone you have to download and buy that. Oh well, still the new phone is nifty and I am enjoying it. It also has Bluetooth to it so now I can look like a complete idiot with the wireless headset.

I now have a great book to read. Yes, from time to time I actually like to read a book. But yes this is more of a humor book so its not a great novel but it does answer a lot of questions in life. It is entitled, "Why do men have nipples?" . I will leave it at that and just let you form you own answer to that great mystery. But really it has a lot of interesting questions and answers to them. It is the questions you want to ask your doctor or some sort of expert but never have the "balls" to do it or you aren’t drunk enough to do it.

Ah, today is Jerry West day in the university city, time to finally retire that ol’ 44. I hope its a nice ceremony for West since I won’t be attending due to a women’s game that I have to work after that. I will watch it on TV, depending on what they do on TV for it.

It’s that time of year, the time when we all get together and feast and feast….and feast until we cannot feast anymore. Thanksgiving. Or Turkey Day…or as one comedian calls it "Don’t Trust a White Man Day".

Anyways…whatever you call it, I wish you and yours a happy Thanksgiving.

I think snow in November and December is great. It always looks nice for the holiday season but anything after New Years is just annoying.

Really…right now it looks so nice outside…so pretty…lol

Okay, so the band mentioned below I decided to download their CD and just like the song it is a pretty tasty CD. Quite glad I made the purchase.

Today, I drove my grandparents to the airport in Pittsburgh. I’m glad I was able to do it really since I don’t get to spend nearly enough time with them these days. I believe most of the family was happy I did it too. It was really nothing, I just hope they made it safely today to Chicago and I am sure they will enjoy their time at my uncle’s. I get to do it again around Christmas time so it will be a nice way to spend a little time with them.

My parents come up here today which will be nice since I haven’t seen them much since the begining of the semester. Very glad my dad was able to get the day off on Friday because I don’t even know if I would have gone home these last couple days if he hadn’t. Sad to say that but it is true. Maybe I will be able to go home once before Christmas break. I haven’t even looked at the basketball schedules here at school to see if I would be able to. I want to go home but I know the experience I am getting is well worth my future. I know it will all pay off soon even though  I don’t see my family much.

Another note of interest, it is snowing up here right now. It is coming down nice and slow. Just flurries really and hopefully it stays that way until my folks get here because I know Route 19 is a mess when it snows. That is never fun really…

I must say I have enjoyed this week more than I expected to. I have finally gotten to relax and do nothing. It is nice to be able to relax for once I must say, I keep myself busy as most people know that but again its worth it.

Christmas is only 32 days away…did you know that? haha
